With five different goalscorers, it was a complete team performance. Stat-trackers Sofascore have looked at the data from all 18 matches in week one of the competition and picked out Celtic duo Liam Scales and Arne Engels for attention.Scales takes his place in defence with an 8.1 rating alongside Manchester City star Josko Gvardiol and upcoming Borussia Dortmund opponent Nico Schlotterbeck.
Engels meanwhile was given a match rating of 9.2 – second only to the free-scoring Harry Kane, who helped demolish Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday night.Scales had already been rewarded for his efforts, officially named as the man of the match and receiving a special UEFA trophy.
It’s only right to see Engels given recognition, too. His athletic, all-round performance was a real sign of things to come for the new signing. The feeling is that Celtic have another high-potential player on their hands who can develop into an elite talent.
