David Edgar reacts to ‘Riot’ after what he saw in Rangers loss v Kilmarnock

David Edgar has labelled Rangers performance as a “disaster” after the 1-0 defeat to Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on 20 October.

Marley Watkins fired home late on to secure all three points for Kilmarnock and pile further misery on Phillipe Clement’s side in the Scottish Premiership.

The Heart & Hand Podcast lead was far from happy with John Souttar and the defence after their “riot” of mistakes led to the winner on a miserable afternoon.

Writing on X, Edgar said: “A riot at the back to cap off a disaster of a performance.”

Rangers have to improve, urgently

It has been a dreadful start to the season for Rangers and one that keeps piling pressure on Clement.

A draw between Celtic and Aberdeen on 19 October opened the door for the Bears to close the gap down to three points, but instead extended it.

The Gers haven’t won a league title since Steven Gerrard’s departure in 2021 and their fortunes do not appear to be changing this season.

Clement has a squad full of talent that currently, isn’t living up to their potential and unlocking that ability will be key to helping kickstart their season.

The Belgian can complain about the ownership and lack of funds to bring in real big names at Ibrox, but his tactics and decisions haven’t been up to scratch either.

After all, Rangers can still taste success in this campaign, however, performances need to drastically improve and results need to come quickly in Govan.

In other Rangers news, Chris Sutton has taken to social media to take a sly dig after the 1-0 loss to Kilmarnock.
