Dan Bardell moots Aston Villa fan discontent as ‘Disrespectful’ in Chris Heck admission
Dan Bardell has described Aston Villa fan discontent as “disrespectful” to Unai Emery but has suggested this could be linked to ticket prices.
The Villans have lost four games on the spin which has left some supporters unhappy given that expectations were high coming into the season.
This could have been due to ticket prices set by Chris Heck earlier in the year with fans paying up to £97 per game for home fixtures in the Champions League.
Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell has suggested that this lull in form isn’t deserving of discontent in the stands, labelling it as disrespectful to Emery and his players.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bardell said: “I think with the ticket pricing stuff, as soon as Villa are on a bad run, those steep ticket prices are going to come into focus.
“Chris Heck has gone quiet on social media at the moment, I’ve noticed. There is no need to panic about the form, Unai Emery and the players will get it right because they’ve proved it time and time again.
Yes, they’ve lost four in a row but it’s come at a time where, other than Liverpool, the teams near the top aren’t really in brilliant or consistent form. I don’t think there needs to be any overreactions.
“You can discuss why these overreactions are happening and not be happy with results and ticket costs but any questions of the manager or players are really disrespectful.“
Aston Villa fans slammed for disrespect towards Unai Emery
Ticket prices set at the start of the season certainly got supporters backs up and created some negativity which some are yet to leave in the past.
This saw the President of Business Operations come under fire and during this poor run of form hasn’t made a single social media post with his last post to X coming on 15 September.
Whether fans are holding grudges with Heck over these prices or not, they have to put these aside and set realistic expectations for the Villans this season.
