Cyriel Dessers makes Hamza Igamane admission after what he’s seen in Rangers training

Cyriel Dessers believes his Rangers teammate Hamza Igamane “has something” about him after what he’s seen the striker do in training.

Rangers have had a bit of a topsy-turvy season thus far and while the club find themselves third in the league, they’d still prefer to be closer to arch-rivals Celtic.

The Gers had a fairly lacklustre transfer window that saw only a few players of real quality come through the Ibrox doors.

Speaking to the media about Igamane on Monday (23 September) after his recent cameo appearances, Dessers shared his thoughts on the competition he’s facing for the starting spot in Philippe Clement’s side.

“I think it’s really good that Hamza and Dani are here,” Dessers said via PLZ Soccer. “I’m sure that we will need them and that they will be ready at that moment.

“You can see Hamza, he has something. I can see it as well in training; he comes in and he has something and I’m happy with that.

“I’m supporting him, he’s supporting me, we’re helping each other because, in a long season like you have at Rangers, you want to do well in the two cups”.

Rangers need to play Hamza Igamane more often

As aforementioned, Rangers’ season could have gone a lot better than what it has done thus far.

While the club have managed to get themselves back to winning ways in recent weeks, it still feels as if Clement’s men could be doing better.

While BBC Pundit Marvin Bartley [21 September] has claimed that Dessers “has to be a starter” for the Ibrox outfit, Igamane’s recent cameo appearances have helped outline just how good of a striker he is.
