Craig Hope now shares when he’s hearing ‘technical’ Newcastle player will return from injury

Newcastle United’s problems with injuries is well-documented.

While the reduced schedule this time around and the appointment of James Bunce as performance director should help matters on that front, injury problems remain.

Sven Botman and Jamaal Lascelles are still a while off returning, while Lewis Miley is only just back in action for his first few minutes of the season.

Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon have both missed games too, while Callum Wilson is not expected back until after this month’s international break.

Latest Kieran Trippier injury news ahead of Newcastle return

Trippier, who was strongly linked with leaving the club last summer, has not featured since the 0-0 draw at Everton in early October.

A hamstring injury has caused him to miss the last three games and Hope has revealed that he’s likely to miss both Saturday’s game with Arsenal and next weekend’s trip to Nottingham Forest.

“I’ve had the same information [in regards to Callum Wilson’s return date] on Kieran Trippier as well, so we shouldn’t expect to see them even down at Nottingham Forest next weekend,” said Hope on a video posted on YouTube.

Kieran Trippier could help Newcastle solve long running problem

Quite how long Trippier stays at the club remains to be seen of course but it seems Eddie Howe is pinning hopes on him.

Goals have been a problem this season and Newcastle remain wholly ineffective from set-pieces.

However, the Newcastle United managerbelieves Trippier’s return will help improve on that record, such is his ability from dead-ball situations.

Tino Livramento now looks the first-choice at right-back but that doesn’t mean Trippier cannot play a part. The last year or so may have been difficult form wise but there can be little doubt he can be a useful asset during what remains of his time at the club.
