Connor Goldson sees Rangers transfer exit put ‘on hold’ over price tag while Todd Cantwell swirl answered
Wanted Connor Goldson has reportedly seen his move to Aris Limassol put “on hold” as he jetted out with the rest of his Rangers teammates for the friendly clash with Birmingham.
Ibrox stalwart Goldson looks to be closing in on a move to Cyprus this summer as Philippe Clement clears out the squad to bring in new faces – with an image emerged of him walking down an airport corridor doing the rounds on social media on Sunday night. However, a snap circulating on Tuesday showed the defender with the squad boarding the plane to Birmingham with Goldson near new recruit Liam Kelly.
The Sun now report that the 31-year-old will be involved in the tribute match in honour of the late Trevor Francis. It is claimed that there is currently no agreement in place between the Rangers and Aris – with the Light Blues demanding “more than £1million” to sell Goldson.
It is noted that “other interested clubs are waiting in the wings to pounce should negotiations collapse.” Elsewhere, Todd Cantwell has been touted with a move away from Ibrox this summer. Social media swirls have floated Cardiff City as a potential destination with some even claiming an offer had been accepted. And while it is reported that “several” English clubs have “declared an interest,” no firm offers have been received at this stage.
