CONFIRMED REPORT;David Moyes return to Everton as director of football

Bryan King claims Everton have previously discussed bringing David Moyes back to Goodison Park.

The ex-Goodison scout has speculated that the 61-year-old could return to the club in a behind-the-scenes capacity.

It comes after HITC journalist Graeme Bailey told Everton News (9 September), “David Moyes’ name has come up. We know he’s available. I know Graham Potter is someone who the hierarchy like, again, out of work. Big-name manager.

“That’s not to say Dyche is on the brink. They just have to do their due diligence to make it easier for a transition if it’s needed.”

But King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – isn’t sure how likely Moyes’ return to the club is.

“In terms of Moyes, his return to the club has been discussed previously,” King said.

“I would have thought he would be brought back as a director of football or on the board or something of that sort of nature.

“However, I’m not sure how far that will progress.”

David Moyes to return to Everton?

Many supporters at Goodison Park will hold Moyes close in their hearts after his time in charge of the club.

Due to his lengthy spell with the Toffees, it would have been fair to assume that he would one day return to Goodison Park in some capacity.

Whether or not he would be interested in a behind-the-scenes role remains to be seen. However, with the Scotsman out of work, and Sean Dyche under pressure, there could yet be a fairytale reunion on the cards.
