Champions League club who wanted Dominic Calvert-Lewin now target ‘more appealing’ Everton player

This January transfer window promises to be an intriguing one for Everton.

After all, there’s every chance that they could have new ownership in charge, with Dan Friedkin continuing to progress in that regard.

So, that could hand Sean Dyche with a sizeable war chest of transfer funds, should the American billionaire seek to back an Everton manager whose contract expires in the coming summer.

Their financial issues of the past have to have eased somewhat, but they are far from in the clear as a club.

With all this in mind, it might be another case of the Toffees having to sell before they can buy.

Juventus want Beto instead of Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Whilst it is well-documented that Juventus are trying to sign Dominic Calvert-Lewin, GIVEMESPORT have now emerged to offer an alternative view.

They suggest that whilst the Champions League outfit are interested, they see another Everton man as a far more appealing option.

The report reads: ‘Juventus’ priority is to find a loan deal, making Beto a more appealing option. Beto has been identified as a player who can provide the necessary depth to support Vlahovic and ease concerns about the team’s firepower if their star striker faces injuries or needs rest.

‘Calvert-Lewin’s contract situation has caught Juventus’ attention, but the Italian club understand that it’s going to be a difficult signing to get over the line in the middle of the season – it would need to be a strong permanent offer, according to GIVEMESPORT sources. The likes of Newcastle and Chelsea would also likely be in competition with Juventus for Calvert-Lewin’s signature.’

Sean Dyche certainly prefers one Everton transfer

This latest claim will be music to Dyche’s ears, who clearly prefers Dominic Calvert-Lewin to Beto.

Such a notion is brutally exemplified in how, even when the Englishman endured a barren spell where he failed to score across 24 games, Beto still only ended up with nine starts in the Premier League last season.
