Celtic Closing in On Barcelona Loan Deal

Sad news: EVERTON key player involved in a critical injury during.Barcelona’s young left-back Álex Valle has reportedly signed a one-year contract extension, keeping him at the club until 2026 and the 20-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Levante UD, is now expected to head out on loan to Celtic for the 24/25 season.

Celtic have been actively searching for a left-back this summer, with interest in Liverpool’s Owen Beck and Wolves’ Hugo Bueno. However, with neither deal materialising, Valle has emerged as a prime target for the Hoops as they look to bolster their defensive options before the transfer window closes on Friday.

During his loan at Levante last season, Valle gained valuable experience in Spain’s Segunda División, where he featured regularly and impressed with his performances. Barcelona view him as a long-term asset and are keen for him to continue his development with regular first-team football, something that Celtic can provide, particularly with the added experience of playing in the Scottish Premiership and European competitions.

If the reports from DeportivoMundo are accurate, Valle is set to join Celtic early next week, giving him time to integrate into Brendan Rodgers’ squad. His arrival would provide much-needed depth and competition at left-back, a position where Celtic have been seeking reinforcements.

This move could be a significant step in Valle’s career, offering him the chance to prove himself on a bigger stage, while also providing Celtic with a talented young player to strengthen their defensive line.
