The Celtic defender was looking to build on his performance in Scotland’s defeat to Croatia last week and it’s fair to say that Ralston let no one down.
Ralston put in a great shift as the Hoops defender helped limit Portugal to just three shots on target before the Celtic man was subbed off in the 87th minute.

“Held his own against Nuno Mendes for the bulk of the game and made an excellent intercepting tackle in the area during the first 45.”The Edinburgh Evening News was equally as positive about Ralston and praised the Celtic fullback’s bravery, “Took a right kicking by throwing himself into challenges.
