The Blues risk losing their frontman for nothing as he will be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with European clubs from 1 January.The 11-cap England international is in a poor run of form having scored just two goals in 17 league matches so far this campaign.

The former Heidenheim man has scored nine goals and notched four assists in 15 Bundesliga matches so far this season.

 

His potential arrival on Merseyside could spell the end for the former Sheffield United star who is out of contract in the summer.
