Breaking News:Tottenham line up Ange replacement who Chelsea wanted to succeed Pochettino…
Ange Postecoglou fully believes that he is the right man to turn around Tottenham’s fortunes and help the side overcome their inconsistency.
Tottenham are in a frustrating run of form
While Tottenham fans will tell you that following the Lilywhites can be frustrating at the best of times, that has been exacerbated under Ange Postecoglou.
We have seen Spurs comfortably overcome the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Aston Villa this season, but yet lose against the likes of Ipswich, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth.
Many Tottenham fans are seemingly losing faith that the side will even be consistent under Postecoglou, but the Australian refuses to accept that.
Ange Postecoglou remains defiant
Ange Postecoglou has insisted that he is as determined as ever to change the cycle and remarked that it is his job to concentrate on the tangible things he can fix so that the results turn around.
When asked about the side’s inconsistency, the Spurs boss told Football.London: “It doesn’t sit well with me, nor should it. I’m not going to accept it.
“My role within that and my responsibility is to change that because if we’re going to get to where I want us to get to, we need to break that cycle of not showing belief and resilience in key moments. It doesn’t sit well with me mate but nor should it and that’s why we do what we do.
“[The fans’ reaction] will be dependent on what people see, what people feel. The only way I can affect that is by what we produce on game days. I’ve got to concentrate on the controllables, and the controllables are the team, how we prepare, how we play and hopefully through that vehicle we get everyone on board.”
Postecoglou refutes claims of a Tottenham mentality problem
It was suggested to Postecoglou that this is a mentality issue that has plagued the club long before he arrived at the hot seat.
However, the Australian rejected that narrative, insisting that the defeats were more down to the team failing to execute the game plan with conviction at certain moments.
