BREAKING NEWS:Sunderland announce a devastating news…

Sunderland left-back Dennis Cirkin is expected to miss the midweek clash with West Brom through his wrist injury, Regis Le Bris has said.

Sunderland have enjoyed a fine start to the season and Dennis Cirkin has been a virtual ever-present for Regis Le Bris in the first third of the campaign.

The 22-year-old had played all 90 minutes in all 15 Championship games before the trip to Millwall at the weekend, but Cirkin was absent for the trip south. He underwent surgery on a broken wrist after playing through pain in the two games prior.

Aji Alese deputised for him at left-back at The Den and looks set to do so again as the Black Cats prepare for West Brom.

Speaking to the media prior to the Tuesday night clash against Carlos Corberan’s side, Sunderland head coach Le Bris stated Cirkin will ‘probably not’ be ready to feature, as relayed by the Sunderland Echo.

It will be hoped he’s good to go for the crucial clash against Sheffield United on Friday night, but this one comes too soon for Cirkin as he recovers from his recent procedure.

He picked up the injury in the QPR draw but played against Preston and Coventry City regardless.
