Breaking News:Steven Naismith lobs ludicrous accusation at Celtic after Rangers loss…
We’ve already had an embarrassing take from one pundit following Celtic’s defeat to Rangers.
Big mouth Troy Deeney had his say on Arne Engels being pelted with a coin in a moment of madness from classless Gers supporters in the stands.
Now it’s yet another madcap notion from a former Ibrox player who offered his take on the derby after full-time.
It was a 3-0 loss for the underperforming Celtic squad in what was an uncharacteristic showing from the usually dominant Scottish Premiership leaders.
Rodgers even admitted Rangers were better on the day.
Naismith says Celtic looked like they ‘couldn’t be bothered’
Liam Scales had a poor game while Nicolas Kuhn was quiet and looked spooked in front of the crowd at times.
Pat Bonner said Celtic were “awful” which cannot be denied while Reo Hatate was accused of “never being so bad” with his distribution from the start.
But Steven Naismith has now accused Celtic of “not looking like they could be bothered”.
It is certainly not an accusation that has been banded about under Brendan Rodgers in the past with numerous trophies in the cabinet and Rodgers’ record vs Rangers being remarkable.
Yet Naismith felt the need to call out the Hoops squad for what he said was such a poor showing that they didn’t look their usual selves.
Celtic had just one shot on target on a day to forget at Rangers
“Celtic looked as if they couldn’t be bothered,” the sacked Hearts manager said.
“They’ve been excellent under Brendan Rodgers from when he came back until now.
“The progression is clear.
“They are a million miles ahead of everybody but today it looked, I think he was spot on in his comments, saying, ‘We lacked that edge’ they looked like they couldn’t be bothered.
“I think it has been too easy for them. The cup final you would expect it to be a shock.
“You’d think they would come into the game and be up for it. But it just lacked that edge.”
