Breaking News:Rangers transfer twist emerges as striker leaves for £3.75m discount

Albion Rrahmani, who was a target for Rangers this summer, left Rapid Bucharest for Sparta Prague for just £4.25million, according to Rangers Review.

The news outlet reported on 18 August that this was considerably less than what Gers were reportedly told to shell out initially for the Kosovo striker, which was £8million.

Prague thus secured the 23-year-old’s services for £3.75million less than what the Ibrox outfit were initially asked to pay.

Rangers must sign a new striker amid failure to land Albion Rrahmani

Gers’ interest in Rrahmani was no secret and his eventual transfer to Sparta Prague for £4.25million highlights a missed opportunity for the Scottish club.

Given the initial £8million price tag quoted, the eventual deal price would have comfortably fit within their transfer budget, especially considering the club’s strategy to invest wisely in young talent with potential for growth.

Rrahmani’s age and goal-scoring record made him an attractive prospect for Rangers, aligning with their need for a dynamic forward.

However, with Rrahmani now off the market, the Ibrox outfit must pivot quickly.

The transfer window is still open and the urgency to bolster their attacking options remains.

They need to identify and secure a striker who can not only fill the void left by other departures but also integrate seamlessly into their tactical setup before the deadline, ensuring they don’t enter the season short on firepower.

In other Rangers news, the Ibrox outfit could now table a bid for an international midfielder as he was left out of the matchday squad over the weekend.
