Breaking News:Rangers stars primed for exit as three clubs battle for winger

Rangers winger Scott Wright is the latest name at Ibrox closing in on an exit from the club this summer.

The ex-Aberdeen winger, 26, finally looks set to depart Ibrox after clinging on to his role in the Rangers squad last season.

One year on from when a deal to bring Wright to Turkish side Pendikspor collapsed, it now appears the Scotland hopeful’s three-and-a-half year stint in Glasgow is coming to an end.

The potential sale of Scott Wright comes with Rangers set to move on no fewer than six players in their team in order to kickstart a transfer revolution this summer.

Rangers’ Wright a wanted man

According to the likes of Darren Witcoop of the Mirror, Scott Wright is a summer transfer target for English Championship club Sheffield Wednesday.

Wright has been the subject of steady links to Hillsborough all summer long but the Owls are not the only side said to be tailing the Rangers star.

There is believed to be interest in Scott Wright from a number of English Championship clubs, with long-term suitors Preston North End and Pride Park club Derby County mentioned.

There is also believed to be interest in the winger from overseas.

At the moment nothing is guaranteed when it comes to Wright but Rangers are believed to be open to selling the winger and freeing up a slot in the club’s squad.

It comes with Wright being handed a number of chances to make an impression at the club and failing to really grasp the nettle.

Making 117 appearances for Rangers to date, Scott Wright has scored 12 goals for the Ibrox club, the highlight being a strike in the 2022 Scottish Cup Final v Hearts.

The winger also started the 2022 Europa League Final defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt.

Gers ready transfer overhaul

The Scott Wright exit links also follow a serious of high-profile transfer reports surrounding once key members of the Rangers squad.

Club captain James Tavernier heads the list, with interest from Turkey between Trabzonspor and Besiktas casting the skipper’s Ibrox future into increasing doubt.

Connor Goldson too is reportedly in Cyprus undergoing a medical ahead of his exit out of Ibrox.

The Gers are also hoping to ship loan Rangers Ianis Hagi – who has been linked to Fiorentina – and Sam Lammers – who has been priced out of a move to the Netherlands – out of the club.

Rangers could recoup up to £11.5m as a result of these deals with yet more cash to flow into the coffers with if the Gers can cut ties with another two exit-linked players.

Prior to Scott Wright being linked to Sheffield Wednesday, disruptive midfielder Todd Cantwell has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia.
