Breaking News:Rangers make enquiry for Europa League-winning midfielder, deal

Rangers have made an enquiry to a Europa League-winning midfielder if Spanish reports are to be believed.

Philippe Clement’s Rangers finished second in the Scottish Premiership with Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic romping to the league title.

Rangers have been busy in the summer transfer window with the Scottish side hoping to win the Scottish Premiership title and have already spent a hefty sum of money this summer with the arrival of Mohamed Diomande from Nordsjaelland for £5 million, the standout.

However, according to reports, it appears that Rangers are not done there this summer with another midfielder reportedly high on the agenda for Clement.

Rangers sound out Joan Jordan’s representatives over move

According to a report from Estadio Deportivo, Rangers have sounded out Sevilla midfielder Joan Jordan over a possible move to Ibrox Stadium this summer.

The newspaper reports that Jordán is on the list of players that Sevilla want to get rid of this summer and have put him on the exit list, but he would prefer to stay in Spain and that’s led to some issues.

Clement’s Rangers have reportedly shown a strong desire to land the Spanish midfielder. However, before fans of the Scottish side get excited over a possible deal, it appears that Jordan has already made up his mind on a move.

The midfielder is reportedly not inclined to give up part of his high salary at the club or move somewhere he does not want to move to and that’s seen several options already discarded.

Jordan move may be dead in the water

Whilst the signing of the Spaniard would be an exciting one, the Spanish report goes on to say that Jordan’s agent has denied any move from Rangers.

Jordan’s preference seems to be to remain in Spain but the only viable offer has been from Deportivo Alaves, but they only offered to pay 20% of his wages and this was rejected by Sevilla.

There seems to be a lot of hurdles to overcome before Rangers can get a deal over the line with Jordan potentially needing to be convinced about a move to Scotland.
