Breaking News:Rangers lock in £4m+ Jose Cifuentes sale with medical scheduled on Monday

Jose Cifuentes will arrive in Greece on Monday to finalise a loan-to-buy exit from Rangers, according to BN Sports.

The Greek news outlet reported on Sunday (11 August) that Cifuentes, 25, is set to join Aris Thessaloniki, who will initially sign the Ecuador international on a season-long loan.

It is understood that the Light Blues have also locked in a £4.2million permanent sale of Cifuentes, with Aris obliged to sign him on a full-time basis next summer.

Rangers can finally say goodbye forever to Michael Beale flop

It’s unbelievable that Michael Beale tried so hard and for so long to sign Cifuentes from LAFC when he was in charge at Ibrox.

You could see almost straight away that the midfielder wasn’t cut out for playing at this level and it wasn’t a shock at all when he was loaned out to Cruzeiro in Brazil in the winter.

His loan there has since been cut short due to how badly he’s done and now he’s off to Greece.

It’s pretty crazy that Aris have agreed a loan with an obligation-to-buy clause in it. It’s absolutely insane when you see that there’s a £4.2million fee tied in.

Rangers have done really well here but they need to make sure this deal is wrapped up as soon as possible before Aris realised they’ve ended up with an Ecuadorian version of Ali Dia and try to send him back and cancel that fee.

All in all, the Gers should be happy with this deal and ultimately, Beale did something that ended up being quite worthwhile on the financial side of things.

In other Rangers news, a new signing at Ibrox could already be unhappy with the Gers.
