BREAKING NEWS:Rangers best player receive a heartbreaking contract dismissal few minutes ago

James Tavernier would be keen on a move to Turkey, according to reports from over there.

But Trabzonspor, who have been first to show their hand with an offer, may not necessarily be his preferred option. That’s because former Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst is interested in a reunion with his old captain at Besiktas, and it seems the player would be too.

Trabzon made their move for the right-back but saw their bid immediately booted out by Gers, with the two clubs around £800,000 apart in their respective valuations. It was even suggested the 32-year-old has accepted personal terms with the Super Lig side and an agreement between the clubs was all that remained.

But Besiktas’ interest was also known, with van Bronckhorst instructing club chiefs to make their move. And, according to Duhuliye, Tavernier would “look favourably on Beşiktaş’ offer.” And the report adds they are looking into how much the move would cost, possibly suggesting dialogue with Gers chiefs.

Trabzonspor signed right-back Pedro Malheiro from Boavista but still want Tavernier and have been promising their fans more signings. It would see the Englishman team up with former teammates Borna Barisic and John Lundstram. The latter made his debut in last night’s Europa League qualifying win over MFK Ruzomberok, with Barisic not listed among the squad.
