BREAKING NEWS:Rangers announce a new ownership and CEO….
Philippe Clement has revealed that there have been no discussions with the Rangers board over his future – but that he has met with new CEO Patrick Stewart.
The future of the Belgian manager is a hot topic of debate amongst furious Rangers fans who’re fed up after seeing their side slip away in the Scottish Premiership title race.
With a lack of stability impacting the club from the pitch to the boardroom, Rangers took a positive step in the right direction by appointing Patrick Stewart this week.
The ex-Manchester United chief will start at Rangers in mid-December as the club looks to implement an executive structure that has been missing for the bulk of the season.
But before Stewart gets his feet under the desk, the Aberdeen-born legal eagle has been speaking with Philippe Clement about the state of play at Rangers.
It comes as rumours about Clement being fired were shot down in the press following the draw against Dundee United.
Philippe Clement meets Patrick Stewart
“I had a meeting with the new CEO,” Clement told the press ahead of the clash with OGC Nice. “That was a really good talk, and that’s it.
“I cannot go in detail about that. It’s about my experience, about what this year was in the club, about what are the things that are good and what are the things to improve.
”It’s a very important thing because the last couple of months there was a big vacuum in the club. A lot of things could not be decided in that moment. Because there was no body to decide those kind of things.
“I am really happy that Patrick is here now. We had a really good talk about everything, about the past year, my experiences, he’s doing that with all the people in the club to make a good analyse and that he can start in a good way.
“He’s going to start halfway in December I think, so that we can make a step forward again. Because of course for any club in the world it’s not good to be in that kind of vacuum situation.”
