Breaking News:Philippe Clement told to make Ross McCausland call for Rangers clash v Hibernian
Chris Jack has told Philippe Clement to start Ross McCausland for Rangers’ clash with Hibernian after his display against Malmo.
The Light Blues got their Europa League campaign off to the perfect start with a 2-0 win in Sweden on Thursday (26 September) thanks to goals from Nedim Bajrami and McCausland.
Clement’s Gers are immediately back in action at Ibrox on Sunday (29 September) against Hibs and Rangers Review journalist Jack has suggested the Northern Irish international should start ahead of Vaclav Cerny.
Writing for the Rangers Review (28 September) he said: “Nedim Bajrami will start from the left given the absences of Rabbi Matondo and Oscar Cortes and Cyriel Dessers will lead the line.
“On the right, Ross McCausland should be rewarded for his impact off the bench with a start at Ibrox.”
What has happened to Ross McCausland at Rangers and Ibrox?
After an impressive breakout season under Clement last term, McCausland has had a bit of a slower start this season as he has struggled to hold down a consistent starting place in the Belgian’s starting XI.
But his goal against Malmo in the week showed that he can still have a major impact on the biggest games. When the winger is at his best, he can be a “different class”, particularly with the ball at his feet [BBC Sportsound, 6 August].
Whether or not one bright display from the bench is enough for the youngster to jump ahead of Cerny in the pecking order is another question, however.

The Czech international may not have been at his best in the Europa League on Thursday night, but he is capable of producing moments of genuine magic and has helped get the best out of Cyriel Dessers in the penalty area.
Both players are capable of having a major impact as starters or as substitutes, Clement just has to work out who is better served where.
