BREAKING NEWS:Philippe Clement announce the departure of Jack Butland few minutes ago..

Rangers striker Sam Lammers is edging closer to securing an exit from Ibrox in the coming days.

Journalist Andrea Losapio reported early on 24 July that the 27-year-old striker is “one step away” from leaving the Glasgow club this summer to join Dutch club FC Twente.

He failed to make an impact at Ibrox under Philippe Clement and was sent on loan to Ditch side FC Utrecht in the January transfer window.

The Gers striker enjoyed a successful loan spell with the Dutch club, scoring 11 goals in 20 appearances.

FC Utrecht wanted to sign him permanently but they backed away after failing to meet his wage demands. FC Twente do not have such problems and they are close to securing his signature.

Losapio has shared a fresh update on Lammers on 24 July, where he claimed that the striker will sign a new three-year deal with the Dutch club.

He adds that Rangers will receive a fee of around £4.2 million from his sale.

The TMW journalist wrote on X: “More on Sam Lammers deal: Rangers will sell him with an offer in the area of 5M€ then Lammers will sign a 3 years contract with FC Twente.”

Rangers set to secure transfer masterstroke

Lammers was signed by Michael Beale from Atalanta, where the Gers paid a fee of around £3.5 million.

The move was a disaster, and it took only six months for the new manager to discover that the player was up to the level required at the iconic club.

His impressive goal-scoring form has helped the Bearss demand a high transfer fee for him, and Rangers can sell him for a profit.

To sell a player who is not in your plans for a profit is a transfer masterstroke from the club. Rangers must use the fee to sign a quality striker in the coming weeks.
