Breaking News:Odsonne Edouard faces Crystal Palace fan wrath as ex Celtic striker comes under fire

Odsonne Edouard is feeling the heat from Crystal Palace fans after the ex-Celtic striker drew a blank for the eighth consecutive game.

The Frenchman moved to the Eagles in a £13million deal from the Hoops three years ago and has 21 goals to his name so far. Yet while Edouard was a hero with the Parkhead faithful, the ex-PSG youngster hasn’t’ quite hit the same heights at Selhurst Park. Edouard was at his lethal best with the Hoops when played through the middle but the 26-year-old has struggled to make a position his own at Palace.

Boss Oliver Glasner opted to play the Hoops Treble-winner in a No10 role behind Jean-Philippe Mateta in yesterday’s 2-0 home defeat to West Ham. But after spurring a couple of chances, the Glaziers support appear to be running out of patience with Edouard, who is in the final year of his £70k-a-week deal, although his club hold an option for another 12 months.

One fan wrote: “Edouard is painful to watch man, we’ve gotta move on from him.”

Another commented: “I’ve always defended Edouard but after yesterday’s game and missing clear cut chances I feel it’s time to get rid.”

A third said: “Everything good that palace does falls apart with Edouard.”

This punter exclaimed: “Watching Edouard was painful today. Thought maybe being in that 10 role would suit him but he looked worse than being up top. Needs to be moved on for someone else realistically.”

Another worried supporter wrote: “Squad depth isn’t good enough, Edouard is horrendous.”

While a sixth added: “There’s a good footballer in Edouard but his footballing IQ is so questionable sometimes.”
