Scott Allison is leaving Nottingham Forest to become academy director at Dundee United, sources have told Football Insider.

Allison is currently head of coaching at Forest and is taking up a position as academy director at Dundee United.

It is believed that he has agreed terms with the Scottish Premiership club to take on his new position.

The academy director role is slightly different from what he’s been doing with the Premier League side.

Allison took on the role at Nottingham in 2023, getting the chance to work with both coaches and players in the development phase.

Allison boasts a UEFA A and UEFA Elite Youth A licence, which he will be taking with him to his new role.

Scott Allison does boast experience in Scottish football despite Nottingham Forest career

Scottish football is something that Allison has experience with, as he was formerly the academy director at Patrick Thistle.

This is the same role he will be taking on at Dundee United for the new campaign.

Dundee United are without a win in their opening two games in the Scottish Premiership this season.

Allison boasts deep experience in the world of coaching, having worked in the Premier League, Scottish Premiership, and in America.

Throughout his career, he’s been able to take on various coaching roles within both the men’s and women’s game.

In other news, Nottingham Forest fans hail ‘incredible’ Joe Worrall after exit news.

However, he has fallen out of favour at the City Ground in recent years, spending the first half of last season on loan at Besiktas and featuring just seven times in the Premier League upon his return.

The defender’s contract is set to run until 2026, but Forest have moved to cash in early.
