BREAKING NEWS:Nottingham Forest vs Crystal Palace kick-off time has been reschedule few minutes ago…
Crystal Palace will look for their first league win of the season when they take on Nottingham Forest on Monday night.
Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner says he almost has a full squad available for their game against Nottingham Forest but admitted that Adam Wharton has had to see a specialist due to an unspecified injury, which has contributed to the team’s underwhelming start to the season.
Palace currently sits in the relegation zone, which is surprising given that they ended last season as one of the most in-form sides and many believed they could challenge for a top-half finish. Since then, the absence of key players like Michael Olise and Joachim Andersen has further contributed to their struggles.
Speaking optimistically ahead of the game, the Crystal Palace boss confirmed that he almost has a full squad available and revealed what Wharton has been doing to get back to his best. Glasner told reporters: “No injured players are coming back in time, but Cheick Doucouré will train in parts after the Forest game.”
Regarding Wharton, he said: “He is ready [to play], but we always have to manage him. He saw another specialist, so it’s an up-and-down situation. He trained quite well this week and is in good shape—so that’s positive.”
This will be a massive game for the Eagles, as there is pressure on Glasner. Reports this week suggest that David Moyes might be brought in to try to keep the team in the Premier League if results do not improve.
The club paid big money for Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah, but he hasn’t been able to find his scoring form at the moment, while goals have also dried up for Jean-Philippe Mateta.
The Premier League is a brutal environment, and while some sympathize with Glasner, they urge patience for him to turn things around.
