BREAKING NEWS:Narcís Pèlach has decided to quit his job and never return again….
Former Stoke City captain John Eustace will face his old club on Wednesday night determined to avoid further “disappointments”.
Eustace is now manager of Blackburn Rovers, who will host the Potters in a 7.45pm midweek kick-off at Ewood Park.
And having seen Rovers lose 2-0 to Sheffield United on Saturday, Eustace is keen to get his side’s play-off push back on track at the expense of his old club.
Former Stoke striker Tyrese Campbell was on target against Rovers, just as he was against the Potters the week before in another 2-0 success for the high-flying Blades. Harrison Burrows grabbed their opening goal.
Looking ahead to Wednesday, Eustace told the Lancashire Telegraph: “I think it’s important we get a result. I don’t think the performance [against Sheffield United] was anything to worry about, but we have to learn from it.
“When we get disappointments – we go a goal down, two goals down – we must learn to carry on doing what we do, which is being competitive.
“I think the performance was good up until they scored their second goal. I don’t think there’s an issue getting the ball into the final third, but the final pass was the problem. That last half an hour was a bit disappointing, but it’s something we will learn from.”
