It has only been a few weeks since the summer transfer window closed but there is already talk about what might happen in January. That is the nature of football. Things never stand still. And unfortunately for one Celtic player, it looks like his time at Parkhead might be coming to a close sooner than anybody could have anticipated.

Considering how well Celtic have done so far this season, there are not too many players who have been on the receiving end of criticism. Unfortunately, Luis Palma is a rare exception in this case.

The Honduran winger had started so well at Celtic and had looked like a potential long-term replacement for Jota. But his output in front of goal has faded away over time while his overall game has not improved.

On the other hand, players like Nicolas Kuhn and Daizen Maeda are playing at the top of their game right now. Even James Forrest is contributing positively. As a result, it is hard to see how Palma can win back his place in the starting XI. It is very possible that his future lies away from Parkhead.

Celtic player tipped to leave the club in January

As reported by Football Scotland, Michael Stewart told The Scottish Football Social Club about the situation of Palma:

I don’t see how he how he is going to be able to make his way back at Celtic.

“I would not be surprised if come January he was being moved on elsewhere, because I don’t see him having the impact you would have hoped for and expected. He was a big summer transfer last year, so, no I wouldn’t be surprised if Palma is moved on.”

Palma got a chance to impress against Falkirk in the Scottish League Cup at the weekend. But he failed to deliver even against the Championship side, when presented with a golden opportunity.
