BREAKING NEWS;Leeds United approves the departure of Jesurun Rak-Sakyi few minutes ago

Jesurun Rak-Sakyi chose Sheffield United over Leeds United because he was “impressed” with what Chris Wilder had planned for him.

The attacker was linked with both clubs and was made aware of the Whites’ interest before joining the Blades on loan from Crystal Palace.

Leeds finished the window with the signings of Manor Solomon and Largie Ramazani instead, with both making their debuts against Hull.

Speaking to the Sheffield Star (10 September) Rak-Sakyi dubbed the Whites a “big club” but said his sights were set elsewhere.

“My agent made me aware of the interest from them [Leeds] and I knew it was a big club,” he said.

“But the manager here spoke to me and I was really impressed with what he said and the plans he had for me. So that made me decide to come here.”

Leeds United make Jesurun Rak-Sakyi transfer call

Although many Leeds fans were somewhat shocked by Rak-Sakyi’s choice to move to Sheffield rather than Leeds, it feels as if the Whites have got the better end of the deal.

As the move for the Crystal Palace attacker never came to fruition, this resulted in the club looking elsewhere which brought them to Solomon.

The attacker has had some troubles with injuries in the past, but he has already been described as “unplayable” at times [Neil Redfearn, 2 September].

Since arriving at Elland Road, Solomon shined in his first game for the club, picking up an assist and the Man of the Match award too.

His stellar performances in the league even seem to have carried over to his national side as he managed to show what he’s worth despite Israel losing 3-1 to Belgium [Sport 5, 6 September].

It’s still early days in the season of course but for now, at least, it feels as if the Whites are on the right path towards Premier League promotion.
