BREAKING NEWS;Kevin Thelwell rejected terms and conditions and insisted leaving due to..

Everton’s takeover situation is something which seems to have taken a back seat this summer, as Kevin Thelwell desperately tries to solve the issues on the pitch.

And, fair play to the director of football, thus far he is succeeding, having strengthened all across the board with potentially more yet to come.

Sean Dyche must be mesmerised by this new look attitude towards spending, but there is only so positive that things can get when the ownership situation behind the scenes remains so dire.

Jim White tells Simon Jordan what he’s hearing about Everton’s takeover

Speaking on talkSPORT yesterday, just a day after Stefan Borson and Darragh MacAntony clashed over Everton’s takeover, once again the Toffees were the chief topic of discussion.

However, opting to welcome back Simon Jordan onto the show, the former Crystal Palace chairman was the latest to give his verdict on this mess of a situation, which needs fixing soon.

Waxing lyrical about one potential owner, with George Downing and Andy Bell having shown an interest in Everton on numerous occasions, Jim White was on hand to burst his bubble.

He revealed: ‘Someone who’s quite close to it is telling me that Andy Bell and George Downing are out, and they’re not interested in coming back.’

Jordan confirmed: ‘I know that. I know that to be the case.’

Andy Bell and George Downing are one of many takeover suitors

Even if Bell and Downing are supposedly out of the race for good, that does not mean that there is not a whole host of alternative bidders waiting in the wings.

After all, when 777 Partners’ efforts to acquire the club fell through, fans really feared the worst.

And justifiably so, given the mountain of debt they so clearly had, and the many hurdles in place to any potential new owner.
