Breaking News:James Tavernier shares image with exit-linked Rangers star…

Rangers captain James Tavernier has shared an image with exit-linked Cyriel Dessers following the 5-0 win over Fraserburgh on Sunday.

The 30-year-old has been linked with an exit and Philippe Clement refused to rule out a departure in the winter transfer window after the victory at Ibrox on 19 January.

The veteran scored a hat-trick against the Highland League outfit in what could be his final Gers match with Italian and Spanish sides interested in his services.

The Light Blues skipper took to his Instagram story on 20 January to post an image with the Nigerian striker with the flames emoji.

Rangers exit inevitable for Cyriel Dessers?

Tavernier’s post could be seen as a goodbye message to his Bears teammate as speculation on his future refuses to go away.

Clement’s refusal to rule out a departure seems to suggest that the Gers are open to a sale if the price is right, despite his goalscoring antics recently.

Scottish Mail reporter Gary Keown believes that Dessers has given up at Ibrox after he told the media that the club may look to sell him and that he wants regular football, whether that is in Govan or not.

It makes sense for both parties to move on, as Dessers has struggled for regular game time in recent weeks after the emergence of Hamza Igamane.

He played the full 90 minutes in the cup game on Sunday (19 January) but has featured for a total of just 86 minutes in the last six Scottish Premiership matches.

Getting the Nigeria international off the books could give Clement the funds to improve his squad in the market this month.

In other Rangers news, Sheffield United have entered the race to sign an out-of-contract Gers star.
