Breaking News:Ianis Hagi talks confirmed as fresh Rangers transfer development emerges

Rapid Bucharest chiefs have confirmed that talks are ongoing over a deal to sign Rangers attacker Ianis Hagi.

As quoted by the Daily Record on 21 August, the club’s president Viorel Moldovan and minority shareholder Dan Sucu both went on record to confirm interest in the Romania international.

Sucu admitted that the club were keen on signing the 25-year-old while Moldovan went on to wax lyrical over Hagi, revealing that talks were planned.

He said: “Ianis Hagi is a player of great value that I think every club wants. We’ll see, we have some discussions, we’ll see how they go, I hope he’ll be interested in coming to Rapid. That’s the most important thing.”

Ianis Hagi now expected to be the next Rangers player to leave

Gers have seen a number of players leaving this summer, including Connor Goldson, John Lundstram, Kemar Roofe, and Borna Barisic, among others.

Now, given the fact that Hagi is training with the B team and a club has gone on to confirm that they’re in talks to sign him, it almost makes it certain that he will part ways.

A parting of ways makes sense as the 25-year-old’s career has been plagued by injuries, and his form has not consistently met the expectations set by his early promise at Rangers.

bringing in new talent and focusing on a different tactical setup under Philippe Clement, Hagi’s role has diminished, as evidenced by his training with the B team.

For the Romanian, a move to Rapid Bucharest could offer a fresh start where he might be a central figure, potentially reviving his career in a familiar environment while for the Ibrox outfit, this move clears up wages and squad space, allowing for investment in players who fit Clement’s immediate plans, thereby optimising the squad.

In other Rangers news, a central midfielder is set to leave on loan and a bid from Gers has already been made for him.
