Breaking News:Ianis Hagi ‘rejects’ Rangers transfer exit chance and wants to STAY
Ianis Hagi has REJECTED the chance to leave Rangers for Rapid Bucharest, according to a report.
The attacking midfielder is on the outside looking in at Ibrox and has only featured for the B team so far this season as they look to offload him. Two teams in his homeland, Rapid and Universitatea Craiova, were keen to take him back and the former made their move in recent days.
However, Sky Sports are reporting that the 25-year-old has rejected Neil Lennon’s old club. It had previously been claimed that they were willing to make him their highest paid player but that would still have seen him cut his Gers wage in HALF and it seems he has now knocked back the move.
It is claimed Hagi wants to stay and fight for his place despite being frozen out by manager Philippe Clement and even if he did leave, it would not be back to Romania. Reports in his homeland also suggest he was reluctant to go up against his dad Gheorghe’s Farul Constanta side, where he was as a young player.
Meanwhile, Alex Lowry looks to be on the verge of a loan move to Carlisle United while Todd Cantwell is also on the lookout for a new club, another who has been with the B team after slapping in a transfer request.
