Breaking News:I will not play again, Leeds key player has decided to quit due to…

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke will view Saturday’s game against Oxford United as a must-win. But it could also be a chance to give one or two lesser-seen players a run out.

Oxford United have just appointed Gary Rowett as manager for this game, though he’ll be watching from the stands at Elland Road on Saturday.

Leeds United have been tipped to blow away Oxford who’ve won just one of their last 15 in the Championship and currently sit in 20th place of the table.

Daniel Farke’s side are in 2nd and looking to close a three-point gap to Sheffield United in 1st, who travel to Cardiff City on Saturday afternoon.

For the Oxford game, Farke has a few selection headaches to make. Leeds have a midfield conundrum with Ethan Ampadu fit again and so we could see a reshuffle in there, and there might be a chance for some of Farke’s rotational players to come in.

Oxford have been poor and with January just around the corner, and some Leeds player sales possible, Saturday’s game could be a good final chance for some; perhaps no less than Patrick Bamford.

Patrick Bamford could be poised for rare start vs Oxford United amid transfer rumours

Bamford, 31, could be in the final stages of his Leeds United career, in what is his seventh season at Elland Road.

The striker has featured just eight times in the Championship this season and is yet to score, and yet to start a game in the league either.

Wrexham and Genoa are interested in Bamford ahead of January. Farke though says that no Leeds transfer talks with take place until January 4th when clubs break for the FA Cup third round.

Given the situation; Bamford’s uncertain future and Oxford’s poor form, Saturday’s game could be a great chance for Farke to give Bamford a final run out before making a proper decision on his future.
