BREAKING NEWS;He has finally done it

Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo now knows the Nottingham Forest squad he will have to work with for the remainder of the season – at least until the January window opens.

The Reds made 11 summer signings to strengthen Nuno’s options as they look to climb the Premier League table this term. On paper, some good business appears to have been done.

Carlos Miguel, Nikola Milenkovic, Morato, Eric da Silva Moreira, Alex Moreno, Elliot Anderson, James Ward-Prowse, Jota Silva and Ramon Sosa will be looking to make their mark. Meanwhile, Marko Stamenic and David Carmo will spend the campaign on loan at fellow Evangelos Marinakis-owned club Olympiacos.

Just as important for Nuno was that key players were retained. The likes of Murillo, Morgan Gibbs-White, Neco Williams, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Anthony Elanga and Danilo all had admirers but ended up staying put.

Several players did head elsewhere, however. Nuno prefers to oversee a small group and the club did a lot of work when it came to moving fringe players on to trim numbers.

“It is finished. Finally it is over and everyone can settle down,” Nuno said of the transfer window after Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers. “The noise around the situation disturbs, now it is finished and it is time to regroup.

“Since we started, our priority was always the same. Those who are here want to be here; those that were here, stayed here. We are happy with that.
