Breaking News:Clement shares Lawrence injury update as Rangers team news emerges v Kilmarnock…

Philippe Clement has confirmed that Tom Lawrence is training individually ahead of Rangers’ clash with Kilmarnock on Wednesday.

The Gers welcome Kilmarnock to Ibrox on 4 December and could be without Dujon Sterling, who missed the 1-0 win over St Johnstone with a blocked nerve.

It is also understood that both Rabbi Matondo and Oscar Cortes are nearing returns to the first-team squad after long spells on the sidelines and are taking part in training.

Speaking to the media, Clement said: “Neraysho Kasanwirjo won’t be available for the next couple of months, Tom Lawrence is training individually.

“Rabbi Matondo and Oscar Cortes are doing parts of the training so they are getting closer. Dujon Sterling is a doubt for tomorrow.”

Philippe Clement to welcome Matondo and Cortes back ahead of Rangers v Kilmarnock?

Clement is under considerable pressure at Ibrox, even after back-to-back victories over Nice in the Europa League and St Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership, and injuries have certainly not helped.

Fans were so excited to see Cortes back in a Gers shirt after re-signing for the club this summer, though the winger has been hit with yet another setback, just like many other players.

Lawrence has become an incredibly important player under Clement but due to his lack of ability to remain fit, some have suggested that he could be out the exit door soon.

Sterling is also another frustrating player, with James Tavernier having to play more games at right-back than Clement would have hoped for, especially with Kasanwirjo’s new blow.

Whether or not these players return to the squad ahead of Wednesday, the Light Blues will still be expected to claim all three points against Kilmarnock at home and keep themselves from slipping further behind the top two teams in the division.
