Breaking News:Christopher Jullien now reveals how everybody at Celtic felt about Jota before he left

As Jota looks to kickstart his career in France with Stade Rennais, former Celtic defender, Christopher Jullien has shared how people at Celtic felt about him before he left for Saudi Arabia.

Jota left Celtic in a £25m move last summer to join Al-Ittihad and spent just one year at the Saudi Pro League club.

Kompany hits back at critics after nine-goal Bayern win

The Portuguese winger had a troubled 12 months at the club as he struggled to command a regular starting spot due to the league rules on foreign players.

Now at Rennes, Jota made his debut at the weekend in a substitute appearance in the 3-0 win over Christopher Jullien‘s Montpellier.

And the former Hoops defender has shared how people at Celtic felt about the winger before he made his record-breaking Saudi transfer.

Not a ‘bad word’ was said about Jota at Celtic

Jota was a very popular figure amongst the Celtic fans. From his visit to the Brazen Head pub in Glasgow to how he interacted with the supporters in the stadium, the Portuguese winger was loved by all.

And it seems the same could be said for the people behind the scenes at Celtic as well.

Jullien told L’Equippe, “He makes the effort, is certainly not individualistic, and only uses dribbling as a last resort. He tries to combine a lot.

Ange Postecoglou and him; it was crazy love because the coach asked him to favour the splits, the one-twos. And it was totally him.

“He is someone nice to everyone. No one said a bad word about him at Celtic.

“He wants to succeed. He tries to put all the ingredients on his side to be at the top.”

Jota would be welcomed back at Celtic

It’s not often many players would be welcomed back at Celtic after leaving but I do believe that Jota would be by much of the Celtic support.

His trickery and skill on the wing coupled with his goals against Rangers created a gaol celebration that was iconic for the Celtic supporters.
