BREAKING NEWS;Celtic star refuses to sign a new deal and is determined to leave the club..
Celtic are now hurtling towards the start of the Scottish Premiership campaign, and excitement is bubbling ahead of Flag Day against Kilmarnock this weekend.
Sunday will be a chance to briefly appreciate Brendan Rodgers’ men’s double-winning achievement of last term before all focus turns towards claiming the league crown once again at Parkhead.
Pre-season couldn’t have gone much better for Celtic. In the early stages, a draw against Ayr United and Queens Park set the Bhoys up for their highly-anticipated pre-season tour of the United States.
Travelling Stateside, Rodgers led the reigning Scottish champions to resounding victories over DC United, Manchester City and Chelsea, registering 12 goals in the process.
Luis Palma scored twice on the Hoops’ American venture and has been discussing how his confidence is building ahead of what he hopes will be an exciting new season.
Luis Palma on building confidence and hopes for the campaign
Speaking about finding his stride in pre-season, Palma stated [Daily Record]: “It has been very good. It has been pretty special. It was important for me to build confidence for the new season but to play in front of so many Honduran fans was really special.
“I’m glad I could give them some good performances and score a couple of goals. They got to see me dance! I do like to dance so maybe I can do it some more this season.
“I managed to score some goals last year but I hope I can get more this year – and maybe some more dancing! I was a little bit surprised there were so many Hondurans at the games but you could see the number of fans of Celtic out there.
“It is nice to play for the Honduran people though and show it’s possible to play at a high level and for a club like Celtic. It’s a big motivation for me.”
