Breaking News: Nottingham forest player announced his departure few minutes ago
The Premier League has confirmed that Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo and Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler were dismissed for “unacceptable” behaviour during the tense draw at the Amex Stadium.
In a match that saw both teams share the spoils, Chris Wood and Ramon Sosa netted for the visiting side, while Jack Hinshelwood and Danny Welbeck scored for Brighton.
Tensions escalated towards the end of the game when Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White received his marching orders after a second bookable offence against Joao Pedro, leading to both managers being sent off due to their conduct.
The referee issued a second yellow card to Gibbs-White for a reckless challenge on Pedro,” stated the Premier League Match Centre on social media. “Fabian Hurzeler and Nuno Espirito Santo were both sent off for their unacceptable technical area behaviour following the incident.”
Both sides entered the fray with unbeaten records, and victory would have propelled either team into the top four. Forest initially took the lead with Wood converting from the spot, but Brighton turned it around before half-time with goals from Hinshelwood and Welbeck, reports the Mirror.
After making tactical changes in the second half, Nuno’s decision paid off as substitute Jota Silva set up Sosa, who struck his first goal in the Premier League on only his second appearance.
Despite being reduced to 10 men, the away team nearly clinched a win towards the end. Alas, Sosa couldn’t connect with Callum Hudson-Odoi in the dying seconds of the match.

“I would have to see the challenge back, I have not seen it,” said Forest goal scorer Wood in a post-match interview with Sky Sports. “It is one of those, Morgan has made a rash decision and we have to move on with that.
