BREAKING NEWS;Best signing ever: Rangers have signed their dream player..
Middlesbrough are leading Rangers in the race to sign Bristol City’s Tommy Conway, sources have told Football Insider.
The 21-year-old sensation has been frozen out of Bristol City’s first-team squad following a fallout, increasing the interest in him.
Rangers have registered their interest in the striker, but Middlesbrough have opened preliminary talks with Bristol City over a deal.
Football Insider revealed that Conway had been open to signing a new deal at his current club but felt the extension offer was below market value.
Staff and players are reportedly upset over Liam Manning’s treatment of Conway, who has been banished to the Under-21s.
The forward was Bristol City’s top goalscorer last season, and he is seen as a big part of the club after being there since the age of seven.
Middlesbrough will battle Rangers to sign Tommy Conway
Conway only has one year left on his contract, and Middlesbrough and Rangers are set to battle it out to try to sign him.
The striker scored 10 goals in 39 appearances last season, with his performances gaining him a call-up to Scotland’s Euro 2024 squad.
Middlesbrough already have Emmanuel Latte Lath, Delano Burgzorg, and Josh Coburn as striking options, but Michael Carrick is keen to add more competition.
Even though Middlesbrough are leading the race for his signature, the Gers are just as keen to sign him.
The Scottish giants have lost Keemar Roofe and Sam Lammers in this window, which is why the club needs a new striker before the window shuts.
In other news, Leeds United move to sign Birmingham City star.
