BREAKING NEWS;Best signing ever: Leeds have signed their dream player
Leeds United defender Max Wober spent last season on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach
Leeds United defender Max Wober is still facing questions over his future at the club.
The 26-year-old Austrian international is seemingly back in the fold after his loan spell with Borussia Monchengladbach last season. Wober is training once again with Leeds’ first team this summer and manager Daniel Farke looks likely to use his experience as the Whites eye a return to the Premier League.
But a proverbial spanner has been thrown in the works, with Monchengladbach sporting director Roland Virkus admitting how they in fact wish to bring him back to Germany once again, with a permanent transfer the touted method. The structure and overall details of the deal, with United remain to be seen, with the club thought to be holding out for a fee of around £8million for the player.
“We are of course monitoring the market. We cannot meet Leeds United’s demands and Leeds are not looking for a loan. That’s why the story is on hold for now,” said Virkus, as relayed recently by Sports Witness. Wober is still under contract at Elland Road until 2027.
