BREAKING NEWS; Tottenham manager is cleared to pursue a significant transfer target…

Tottenham Hotspur made a triumphant return to Premier League action with a convincing 4-1 victory over West Ham United on Saturday. With stunning goals from Dejan Kulusevski and Heung-min Son, the evening was a memorable one for the fans as they set their sights on the next match against Crystal Palace on 27th October at Selhurst Park.

However, Djed Spence’s absence from the Spurs matchday squad raised eyebrows. The Tottenham full-back had been a hot topic in N17 after signing a new contract, marking a remarkable turnaround in his career. Currently earning £25,000 per week, Spence has played just 10 games for the club.

Djed Spence suffered groin strain in Tottenham training

When asked by football.london about Spence’s absence from the Spurs squad, Postecoglou explained, “He picked up a bit of a groin strain in training. Hopefully, it’s nothing too serious, but he missed out today.” With Tottenham’s next match in the Europa League, Spence will have to wait until next Sunday to feature for Spurs again.

Spurs host AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League on Thursday night before heading to Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Sunday.

Spurs were keen to rectify their surprising capitulation to Brighton before the international break, but the match against West Ham didn’t start as planned. Just 18 minutes in, they conceded when Jarrod Bowen outmanoeuvred Destiny Udogie and set up Mohammed Kudus for a powerful strike. However, Tottenham swiftly focused on turning the tide and managed to equalise in the 36th minute. From that point on, they orchestrated a remarkable team effort that changed the game’s dynamics.

Despite the excitement surrounding the Postecoglou era, Spurs had struggled to secure wins against Arsenal, Chelsea, and West Ham under the Australian’s management prior to today. It seemed as though another challenging derby day awaited Tottenham when Kudus put West Ham ahead after Jarrod Bowen outpaced Destiny Udogie.
