BREAKING News :Philippe Clement announce the departure of Ianis Hagi in a statement….
Ianis Hagi will “categorically” not be leaving Rangers and still hopes to regain his place in the first team, his agents have told Digi Sport.
According to the Romanian outlet’s website on 12 September the prospect of a contract termination, tipped as possible as the transfer window closed in Scotland [Daily Record, 29 August], is out of the question.
Philippe Clement has made clear he has no plans for Hagi [Daily Mail, 31 August] and has so far left him in the B Team since returning from loan at Alaves last season.
Yet the Spanish company which represents the 25-year-old have indicated he has no interest in leaving to a league where the window is still open and is “fighting” for another chance at Ibrox, hoping his international performances for Romania will convince Clement to change course.
A source at his agency said: “Ianis is fighting for a chance at Rangers and will not leave for another team. Let’s see if, after Romania’s matches, he will be included in the first team’s squad”

It appears the latest update actually does represent Hagi’s own view on the situation, after he took to Instagram on 7 September to distance himself from comments from another prominent Romanian agent.
If so it doesn’t look like Giovanni Becali’s claims are too far from the truth after he suggested fan pressure may help turn Clement towards offering the attacker a route back in [Fanatik, 6 September] and an exit to Greece didn’t look to be on.
It is admirable to a point that Hagi appears so intent on forcing his way back in at Ibrox when such controversial stand-offs tend to result from players trying to find a way out of a club, as was seemingly the case with Todd Cantwell this summer.
