Breaking news; Nottingham Forest Loses a key player to the transfer window
Aston Villa have been busy this summer.
The Villans have made some huge signings already, while there have also been some high-profile departures, with Moussa Diaby seemingly set to leave Villa Park in the near future.
Villa may have already made a number of signings this summer, but there are still a few targets they have missed out on.
Speaking on Forest Fan TV, Ben Jacobs has been discussing Callum Hudson-Odoi’s future.
It was claimed earlier this summer that Hudson-Odoi was the subject of multiple enquiries, and according to Jacobs, Villa were one of the clubs that asked after the £30m-rated winger.
Aston Villa asked about Callum Hudson-Odoi
Jacobs shared what he knows about the winger.
“We know from Forest there were three inquiries this summer, and some of those clubs were Premier League clubs,” Jacobs said.
“There was a point in time where one of those clubs was Villa to my knowledge, but they didn’t progress anything, but I don’t know the other specific clubs, only that Forest registered three formal inquiries to understand the price and the terms.”
Hudson-Odoi could be brilliant under Unai Emery
Villa didn’t follow up their interest in Hudson-Odoi, but the Forest star could’ve been fantastic for Unai Emery.
Indeed, the England international has all of the raw abilities to be a superstar, and under the right manager with the right level of opportunity, he could be a world-class player.
Emery has shown over the years that he knows how to get the best out of his attacking players. He’s done incredible work with Ollie Watkins and Leon Bailey as of late, while he helped Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang play his best football at Arsenal.
Hudson-Odoi has improved massively at Nottingham Forest, but perhaps he’d reach yet another level if he joined Villa and worked under Emery.
Perhaps this is one to keep an eye on for future transfer windows.
