BREAKING NEWS: Everton announce new ownership as Jose Mourinho is a perfect replacement for Sean Dyche…..
Jose Mourinho is unlikely to replace Sean Dyche as the new Everton manager if he is sacked, according to Alan Myers.
The Sky Sports journalist believes the chances of The Friedkin Group (TFG) appointing the Portuguese legend are slim after recently holding crunch talks on the future of Dyche [Sky Sports, 6 January].
With senior Everton officials holding talks with Graham Potter, who is now expected to take over at West Ham (Sky Sports), pressure is certainly on Dyche at Goodison Park.
When asked about the chances of the Fenerbahce boss coming to Merseyside, Myers wrote on his personal X account (7 January): “I’d say extremely thin, if at all.”
Jose Mourinho not the right fit as Everton manager
Mourinho is unarguably one of the greatest managers to grace football, but his time at the top of the game seems to be gone.
The Portuguese national had underwhelming stints at Manchester United and Tottenham before taking charge of Roma, who the Friedkins own.
If TFG wanted to get the 61-year-old, they seemingly have the contacts to do so, but it wouldn’t be a prudent move on their part.
Everton are in a relegation battle at the moment and need a calm head to lead them out of danger.
