BEST SIGNING EVER;Leeds United has signed their dream player finally few minutes ago
Ao Tanaka has sent a goodbye message to Fortuna Dusseldorf supporters after completing his move to Leeds United.
The Japan international officially joined Leeds on a four-year deal on Friday (30 August), as confirmed by the club’s official website.
Tanaka spent his first three years in European football at Dusseldorf, the first of those on loan, and departs with fond memories.
“Dear @f95,” he posted on his personal Instagram page [30 August]. “It’s time to say goodbye.
“I spent good moment and bad moment. But all of these experience helped me grow as a person and football player.
“I’m so appreciate people who always help and support me. Thank you for everything.”
Ao Tanaka a great signing for Leeds United
Tanaka is a player Leeds have had on their radar for a while now, and it is a great piece of business to have concluded on Deadline Day.
The midfielder has played regularly in 2.Bundesliga over the past few years and has represented his country 27 times at senior level.
Tanaka also famously scored the winner for Japan against Spain to send his country into the last-16 stage of the 2022 World Cup.
This is Leeds’ seventh arrival of the summer and, while he may not be as heralded as some, he could prove to be a huge piece in the puzzle.
With his 26th birthday on the horizon, Tanaka is not exactly a youngster learning his trade but rather a player for the here and now.
Given the time that went into signing him, this is clearly a move the club were eager to pull off – and fair play to do for doing so.
