bad news for Nottingham: He might not return few minutes ago…

Nottingham Forest signed a number of players in the summer transfer window with some for the here and now and others with the future in mind.

It was imperative the Reds sorted out the rearguard, with last season proving a shambolic mess at times defensively.

Forest parted with just £10 million to sign the player from Porto, with Olympiacos likely to have paid a fee to take him on loan.

The Reds might lose Murillo next summer and with Carmo being left-sided, the club might already have signed his replacement.

These comments certainly sound positive from a Forest perspective.

The hope will be that Carmo can stay in the team this season and get himself back to the form he showcased last season when Olympiacos claimed a European title.

If he does that, he should arrive at Forest bang in form and brimming with confidence.

Nottingham Forest have made a very strong start to the 2024/25 campaign.

The Premier League clearly weren’t ready for the Reds this season and right now Forest are fifth in the Premier League table.

A defeat to Newcastle has taken the gloss off the last month to a certain degree but nonetheless, it’s been an unexpected start by Nuno Espirito Santo’s team.

Forest have had a number of top performers so far this season.

Shay Given has given Chris Wood a new nickname with the striker bagging eight goals in 11 appearances during the current campaign.

Elsewhere, Murillo took some praise from Espirito Santo at the weekend and the defensive unit as a collective has been impressive.

He did claim an assist on Sunday against Newcastle but ultimately he knows that he’s got to do more.

Elanga has blistering pace and Wilson has admitted that he’d like the player to go back to basics sometimes to get the better of his marker.

He told the Forest Focus podcast: “It’s frustrating when you play with players who are lightning quick and they don’t use it. It’s so frustrating.

“You think that you train against them all week and you think, ‘Listen if you do that on a Saturday, nobody is going to catch you’. It’s the most frustrating thing as a teammate.
