Ange Postecoglou Uses Celtic Example to Hit Back at English Journalist

Former Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has continually made headlines since joining English Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur last year.

The Aussie gaffer enjoyed great success in Glasgow’s east end, winning five domestic trophies out of a possible six.

Postecoglou won a treble during his second campaign with the Hoops, creating a team chock-full of flair, attacking threat, and, most importantly, goals.

When Postecoglou was at the helm, there was a genuine connection between the club, manager, players, and fans.

His exit to Spurs was somewhat surprising, but he rode away into the sunset just after completing a domestic clean sweep.

Although the 59-year-old is yet to win anything in North London, he has progressed his Spurs team and got them playing his distinct, attacking brand of football. Some south of the border can’t comprehend that Postecoglou will never change his ways, however.

He was asked about pragmatism in his press conference ahead of Spurs’ game against Fulham this weekend, as well as the form of attacker Brennan Johnson.

The right winger has been in fine goalscoring fettle of late, and Postecoglou was asked what the secret behind it is: “Go watch Celtic play, go watch Yokohama F. Marinos, go watch Brisbane Roar play, and go watch the Socceroos play, mate,” promptly replied the boss (PLZ Soccer).

“I’d love to be a right winger in my teams. I’d score bags of goals!”

Whether it be Jota or Liel Abada, whoever played on the right-hand side of the attack for Postecoglou’s Celtic team enjoyed great success.

Wide wingers are key to his system, and that was no more apparent than during his time in Glasgow
