Ally McCoist makes ‘massive’ Leeds United admission after what Alan Brazil said
Leeds United go marching on in the Championship promotion race after picking up a dominant 4-0 victory at Watford on Tuesday.
Daniel Farke‘s side have been through plenty of adversity this term and have at times been criticised for a lack of cut-and-thrust in the final third, but the German has really let the shackles off in recent weeks.
Having been 3-0 up before half-time at Vicarage Road before Joel Piroe iced off the win with a well-taken fourth goal midway through the second half, the Whites are now well clear at the top of the table.
With 2-0 victories over Norwich and Coventry, and 3-0, 4-0, and 7-0 thrashings of Sheffield Wednesday, Watford and Cardiff respectively in recent weeks, Farke’s side are certainly going to take some stopping.
Ally McCoist and Alan Brazil rave at Leeds United result
Speaking on talkSPORT (12 February, 6:22am), Alan Brazil and Ally McCoist discussed the Whites’ red-hot streak of form, which has seen them extend their lead at the summit to five points after 32 matches.
Brazil said: “By the way, big result for Leeds last night. I looked at that and thought ‘Watford are a funny side’ – Leeds absolutely smashed them, they are flying. They’re marching on.”
McCoist added: “Massive result – I’ve just been told that [in] the last six games they’ve scored 18 [times] and haven’t lost a goal.”
Leeds United finally hitting their straps in promotion race
Not only have the Peacocks plundered 18 goals without reply in their last six matches – the only dropped points coming in a stalemate at Turf Moor – they’re now top scorers in the Championship, by a distance.
The +47 goal difference recorded by Farke’s side after 32 games is more than the number of goals Sheffield United and Burnley, the two sides directly below them, have managed to score so far this term.
It is little wonder they have been made such strong favourites to earn promotion back to the Premier League.
