BREAKING NEWS:Kieran Dowell rejected the terms and conditions and insisted leaving suddenly..
Rangers midfielder Kieran Dowell has been slammed by David Edgar who believes he’s not good enough anymore.
The 26-year-old moved to Ibrox in the summer of 2023 and has failed to nail down a regular spot in the starting eleven.
He failed to make a mark under Michael Beale and his performances have not improved under the stewardship of Philippe Clement.
Edgar, the Heart and Hand podcast host told X: “I would like to see us go to a 352 v stronger teams, and Dowell is nowhere even close to good enough to play for us.”
Rangers must sell Kieran Dowell in the January transfer window
Dowell’s time at Ibrox appears increasingly precarious, given his inability to secure a consistent starting role or significantly impact games.
Despite arriving with promise, the 26-year-old’s performances have not met expectations under either manager, Beale or Clement.
His struggles to adapt or improve suggest he might be on borrowed time at Ibrox.
With the January transfer window approaching in a few months, there’s a growing sentiment that Rangers might consider him redundant, potentially seeking a replacement who can offer more dynamism or tactical versatility.
If Dowell’s situation doesn’t change, Gers could look to reinvest in a midfielder who fits Clement’s vision more seamlessly, viewing the Englishman’s departure as an opportunity to strengthen the squad for the second half of the season.
Getting his wages off the payroll will also be a huge boost for the Ibrox outfit and it remains to be seen how things transpire.
In other Rangers news, a first-team player now has three months left to fight for his future at Ibrox or he could be sold.
