SHOCKING NEWS:Daniel Farke confirmed the suspension of two key players few minutes ago
Daniel Farke is lacking in midfield options at Leeds United after injuries to Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev in the past week, and the need for a new signing is growing in that position.
Farke has hinted at luring a free agent to Leeds, but 2014 World Cup winner Christoph Kramer is not going to reunite with Farke. The German wants to remain in his home country after leaving Gladbach.
Leeds have been left with Ao Tanaka and Joe Rothwell as senior options in midfield. Charlie Crew and Sam Chambers have been on the bench in Leeds’ last couple of games against Norwich and then Sunderland.
Pascal Struijk can play in midfield, as can Max Wober. But the latter is injured and due to the latter’s injury, there is a lack of cover for Struijk at centre-back. It is a real issue Farke faces over the next few months.
But a new report suggests that Jordan Henderson could be the answer to Leeds’ issues as the former Liverpool captain could be on the move again having left Anfield back in the summer of 2023.
Jordan Henderson attracting interest from Championship clubs
The Sun say Premier League and Championship clubs are on red-alert over a possible move for 34-year-old Henderson. Captain of Ajax, Henderson is struggling to start week in, week out for the Dutch giants.
There could be a tax issue following his exit from Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq but Henderson is confident it is not an issue. With January only a couple of months away, Henderson could return to English football.
The report touts a possible return to boyhood club Sunderland who remain top of the Championship table after Illan Meslier’s blunder on Friday night. But, Leeds need a midfielder and Henderson fits the bill.
